Yep, Spanish Elmo and Donald have returned.

What a trip. We had some great adventures. And we can’t wait to tell you about them. Right now, we’re both pretty tired and excited to be back.

Donald said we shouldn’t contact anyone, because he was afraid that the white house would find out where the secret bunker was. I figured he knew all about that e-mail and cell phone taps, so I went along with that. I hope nobody got too worried about us because we couldn’t let them know where we were.

It took longer than we expected to get back, because we had to stop off to work odd jobs for money since Donald blew all ours at the casino. What an idiot. Kept mumbling about unknown unknowns while he was playing blackjack. Of couse, he was pretty drunk. Man, I tell you. That ol’ boy sure likes his Wild Turkey. Roast turkey too I found out when we were at the buffet. Very embarassing, he’s such a pig.

But what a great guy to travel with. Always ready to break out in a song; “Can’t find ‘em here. Can’t find ‘em there. Can’t find ‘em anywhere.”

And you’ll never believe where the bunker is. I can’t tell you, cause it’s secret. But I can tell you that it’s quite lux.

And Back Home

There’s a lot of excitement today. Elmo’s friends got out maps and pencils, to see where Boston is. Blue Bunny spoke about his adventures there a few years ago. Penguin still has questions about DC. He’s wondering if Elmo ever got a chance to show his Rumsfeld doll the Pentagon. I told him that we probably would have heard about it by now if he had.

But they did enjoy clanging around in the Capitol Building’s elevators yesterday. Elmo called and said there was a lot of excitement, with people sitting on the floor and cops running around everything. Almost like back in his hometown.

An update

Well, I should have kept this up to date more often, but, as you can see from the pictures, we’ve been enjoying springtime in Virginia and D.C. Rummy, however, is his usual negative serious sour puss and it was HIS idea to look up Eleanor’s skirt. I shouldn’t have fished him out of the Potomac…..

And I had trouble finding a translator. Yeah! Right here in the DC area. Who woulda thought? Oh no, not me silly, for Donald. Nobody can figure out what he’s saying.

We made some new friends, and ate at some of the fine restaurants that are in this area, and did some site-seeing. And now, I understand we’re off to the Boston, MA area. that’s also in the US.

What a night! We thought we'd have a little drink to unwind and wash that horrid airline popcorn down; Donald got plastered, and had another one of his sex and death fantasy dreams. Kept me up for half the night, and I STILL couldn't understand a word he said.

He's still a bit under the weather, so I thought I'd write a bit. It's a beautiful morning here in Virginia, in the 60's it feels like. We're making some new friends, and are enjoying the home we're at. The cats are fun to be around, and they've got some great stories.

We're going to make a photo album, and post it online just as soon as we can find a host. I'm sure we'll want pictures of our adventures.

Well, Donald seems to be waking up and I need to flip his pillow so the drool doesnt show. I'll write more tonight!

Well, we made it to Alexandria, VA. that’s in the US.

We got a warm welcome from the cat who opened our package. Apparently, it’s customary in these parts to have the cat open packages outdoors, in case anything goes wrong.

Remind me to never fly that airline again--!! The popcorn they served was totally tastless and dry! It's been a long trip and Rummy needs his beauty sleep so bye for now.

It’s been awhile, now, since Elmo left. I know we’re all waiting with bated breath for him to be in touch.

But! What I have found is a home movie shot by ‘the Duck’ while Elmo was leaving. You’ll have to excuse the jerkiness. He hasn’t used a video camera before, so it was a surprise to me to find it. He says that there’s too many cameras around anyway.

Anyhow, these last views of Elmo will have to hold us, I guess, while we await word from, or about, him. He looks so brave in this clip. So touching.

Here’s a picture of my Donald Rumsfeld Doll and me leaving home for our year-long adventure. Donald was so excited, he couldn’t sleep all night. I tried to reassure him, but he can’t understand what I am saying. For our last meal at home, Donald chose lima beans and I, ice cream. And so as we leave the bosom of our family, we will say farewell for now--- check this blog for updates on our Adventures!

Tickle me Rumsfeld

I think this journey taken by Donald and Elmo is a really good idea. I know that Donald has a great deal to learn about this country and taking a trip like this with Elmo will be a good opportunity for him to do this. I can see by the picture that he is already learning to speak Spanish from Elmo. When is their departure date and what is the itinerary?
